Permanently delete files from your computer

Remove deleted files Immediately and skip the recycle bin; Personally I do not like to use the recycle bin feature that is built into Windows. I would rather have deleted files automatically removed from my PC when I select the option to delete them.

Knowing that I am probably not the only one who feels this way, I have devised the following simple tutorial.

How to Permanently Delete Files and Skip the Recycle Bin

To permanently remove or delete files on a Windows computer without moving them to the Recycle Bin:

  1. Right click the Recycle Bin icon on your desktop and select Properties
  2. From the Recycle Bin Properties menu, check the box that says "Do not move files to the Recycle Bin. Remove files immediately when deleted" Permanently delete files
  3. Click Apply

From now on, when you delete a file it is automatically removed from your computer completely bypassing the recycle bin.

You can alsoRemove the Recycle Bin Icon from your Desktop if you want to completely remove the recycle bin.
