RideNow TPU Tube Review: Lightweight Inner Tubes

RideNow TPU Tubes

RideNow TPU Tube Swap Review: Making upgrades to your bike doesn't always have to mean a new frame or set of wheels. Sometimes, the simplest component swap can make the biggest difference. That's exactly what I found when I switched from traditional butyl tubes to lightweight RideNow TPU inner tubes on my Trek Madone. As a rider who logs a lot of miles on 700x23 road tires, I'm constantly experimenting with ways to improve ride quality, reduce rolling resistance, and cut unnecessary weight without sacrificing reliability. TPU tubes have been making waves in the cycling world for promising all of that, and more.

Michelin Pro 3 Race Tire Review (Real World Tested)

Michelin Pro3 Race Course Road Tire

My Michelin Pro Race Tire Review: In late spring or early summer of 2011, I made the switch from Bontrager R3 700x23c tires to the Michelin Pro 3 Race Service Course 700x23c road tires on my Trek Madone 5.2 road bike. After logging over 1, 200 miles on them, I'm offering this detailed review based on real world performance.

Profile Design Aero Bars Review

Profile Design T2+

My personal take on Profile Design Aero Bars: I recently purchased a set of aero bars for my Trek Madone 5.2. I've always admired the aerodynamic look and aggressive stance of time trial (TT) bikes and have considered owning one. However, I wasn't sure if I could handle the aero position for extended rides. So, rather than jumping straight into purchasing a complete TT bike, I decided to test the waters with a quality set of aero bars first.

Garmin Edge 800 Review

Garmin Edge 800

My Garmin Edge 800 Review: I recently decided to splurge and purchase a touchscreen Garmin Edge 800 GPS Cycling Computer. A fellow rider in our local cycling club had been using a Garmin Edge 500, and I was impressed by how seamlessly he could record, upload, analyze, and share all of his ride data through Garmin Connect. That was the moment I knew I needed one.

Kurt Kinetic Rock and Roll Trainer Review

Kinetic Rock and Roll Trainer

My Kurt Kinetic Rock and Roll Trainer Review: During the off season, when it's too cold to ride outdoors, many addicted cyclists migrate to indoor bicycle training. I am personally one of those cyclists who is addicted to riding. I can't stop riding through the winter months and just start up again next spring (let alone go a few days without being on a bike). Along with an addicted cyclist, comes the need to splurge on a good indoor bicycle trainer.

Topeak SmartGauge D2

Digital Bicycle Tire Gauge Review - Topeak SmartGauge D2: In my quest for a reliable digital bicycle tire gauge, I recently discovered and purchased the SmartGauge D2. I needed a gauge that could provide accurate readings for both Schrader and Presta valves so that it could work on bicycles, automotive tires, suspension forks, rear shocks, and more.

Specialized Phenom Saddle Review

Phenom Saddle Top

My "Specialized Phenom Saddle Review". I recently purchased a Phenom Specialized Body Geometry Saddle to replace the stock seat on my Trek Ion CX. The factory saddle recently became scuffed and bent up during a bad bicycling accident. I wanted a replacement that was lightweight, similar in design, and open throughout the center section of the bicycle seat. Specialized Body Geometry Saddles look great and have performed well for me in the past, so I figured I'd try the brand again.

Bontrager T2 700x28C Road Tire Review

Bontrager T2 700x28 Tire Mounted on Rim

My Bontrager T2 700x28C Road Tire Review: Looking for a versatile road tire that performs well on both pavement and crushed limestone trails, I picked up a set of Bontrager T2 700x28C tires to replace the stock 700x38C CX0 Cyclocross tires on my Trek Ion CX. After switching them out and inflating to 110 PSI, I immediately noticed a smoother, faster ride.

Specialized Romin Saddle Review

Romin Saddle Top

My Review of the Specialized Romin Saddle. In my quest to find the perfect road saddle for my Trek Madone 5.2, I came across the Specialized Romin Comp Gel Seat, a Body Geometry Saddle. The stock saddle that came with my Madone wasn't bad. However, I was beginning to experience some mild numbness while in the saddle on longer rides. So I set out to find a saddle that was open throughout the center section of the bicycle seat. As it turns out this seat is also lighter than the original. Bonus Points!

Bontrager H2 700X28C Bike Tire Review

Bontrager H2 700x28c Tread Top

Bontrager H2 700x28C Bike Tire Review: Smooth, eco-friendly performance for pavement and crushed limestone trails. After hundreds of miles on my Trek Ion CX with stock CX0 700x38C Cyclocross tires, I wanted something faster, smoother, and better suited for mixed surfaces. I chose the Bontrager H2 Eco Deluxe 700x28C as a more road-focused alternative.
